I recently had a cataract operation at the Q MH recently. I had the previous one 4 years ago, both times I had to wait 5 hours as both times I was last in the queue, I didn't complain the first time, but the second time I did, only to be taken aside and told that because I had MRSA 10 years ago I had to go last as they had to clean the theatre in a diferrent way, how do you think that made me feel? I was absolutely furious, why hadn't I been told this before? I contracted this while having a proceedure done at the hospital all those years ago. so the hospital gave me it, I was swabbed before I went in and didn't have it then. I have since spoken to my GP about this and he said this should not have happened, in no way am I a carrier, if I was why hadn't he been informed? I demand that this "Stigma" be removed from my file forthwith, I felt unclean, it was not a nice feeling I can assure you, if I had been informed that this would still be on my file, I wouldn;t have felt so bad, I have no complaints about the staff, they were only doing their job. I await your reply.
