"Disappointing service in a dirty environment"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital / Maternity

For the last 3 weeks the hospital has been full of the norovirus, before this there was a c-dif outbreak. Each appt makes you wait over an hour to be seen - I understand there can be delays sometimes but this is every time! Staff are not helpful when you question it and just say that’s how it always is. The fact it’s always like that means there’s an underlying problem that needs to be fixed not a reason I should accept it.

On top of this parking is horrendous, expensive and very hard to come by. The only option to ever work is the nearby Sainsbury’s car park which gives you two hours - but with such delays this means you will run over and potentially face a fine. When you do get to see a consultant they seem ill-prepared to know why you are there and often can’t find details in the notes to find out why you need to be seen that day.

Thank you for you comments.

You are right that there has been an outbreak of Norovirus over these past weeks which is very unfortunate. However, please be reassured that this is not as a result of a dirty environment.

On the issue of delays, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

We are working on a number of initiatives to tackle delays in our clinics as we know that we can do better.

I am also sorry to hear that you have found that consultants you have seen don't seem to know enough about your case. I will pass your comments to the Medical Director.

We are sorry that we've fallen short of your expectations and assure you that we take your comments on board.
