"a poor experience, going private next."

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

What I liked

the way some of the staff remain optomistic whilst working under pressure and stretched to the limit was nice to see although they shouldnt be in this position. the only other think that was good about my stay is the keema and pea curry received for dinner one day, sadly theres nothing else good about my stay in here

sorry forgot to add, the surgeons and aneasthetists were excellent

What could be improved

more staff needed, staff that dont drop syringes on the floor then proceed to use them. better trained doctors overseeing surgical wards instead of inexperienced house officers. i was in here for antibiotics for a potentially serious infected leg near the bone after surgery these antibiotics were rarely given on time extending my stay in hospital which costs even more through incompetence and under staffing.. i may also need to go to theatre because of this costing even more not only financially but i imagine theatre time is at a premium here.

the ward also has cleanliness issues which were only addressed when the media arrived to interview me, when they left things returned to being unclean

it is sad to see this once great institution being so mismanaged and squandered
