"Outrageous, terrifying, humiliating"

What I liked

The patients and a few of the staff.

When the garden was opened to allow cigarette smoking and when the staff were not lazy and trying to force-feed medication to get patients to go to sleep for an easy night.

What could be improved

This enforced stay backed up by police who were 'worried about me' and persuded me into their van once I had made it to the door of my comfortable and safe flat took me to Suite 136 where they observed me messing around for a while until they decided to offer me a bacon roll despite my records all informing them that I am an oberservant Jew intending to get Orthodox recognition.

At some point I was apparently given an intramuscular sedative which left me in a blacked-out state for 48 hours where more observations of me being 'very ill' were written up, which isn't surprising as I am probably allergic to peanut oil which I understand is in many depot injections.

I was then transferred to Maple Unit in the Orchards where there is no multi-faith room and a request for a Rabbi was ignored.

Some of the call buttons had been disabled so anybody needing help wouldn't get it.

I have yet to investigate their canteen made 'kosher' meals for conformity and can only say that unlike the halal meals which come in a nice foil box with the appropriate markings (which I was offered at one point because 'it's the same as kosher, isn't it?') their meals are made up without any official stamps. When they can be bothered actually ordering them in (and I was not the only patient whose special meals were not delivered).

Hawthorn Ward is a little better in that with good timing, one can walk out of the Unit and obtain their own food when the paperwork granting extra leave is 'lost'.

This time around, I didn't see any 'beligerent' patients being injected which is a turn up for the books as they like getting me even if there is no risk to me or other people!

Updates of Community Care Approach and Advance Directives made while compus mentis were 'considered' and then ignored.

Anything else?

Overall, a successful audit, revealing blatent incompetence, racism, religious intolerance and other demonstrations of control freaks at work.

Fortunately, some of the staff are actually there to try to help people and not follow policy with a rigid 'just following orders' attitude.

Hopefully, even if this is not posted, moderator staff will hand this report onto those who need to see exactly how the NHS is falling apart in certain places and will not just bury it as the 'nonsense of an insane person'.
