What I liked

i would recomend thornbury hospital and dont understand why the council/government would evern considered closing such a good, clean, friendly and professional hospital.

my grandfather has an unexpected turn in southmead hospital and we asked if southmead could transfer him to thornbury hospital as the staff in ward C where rude, discrispectful had no respect for any of the patients in the ward. southmead were reluctant and told us they had contacted thornbury hospital and they wouldnt be able to move him until the following week. when speaking to thornbury hospital they hadnt heard anything from southmead in 2 weeks! they told us they had a bed for him and we could bring him down the same day (within the hour) when my grandfather was there, the staff were amazing, very friendly and compationate towards him. the hospital was clean and comfortable and everyone in there seem relaxed and cared for.

i am so impressed with thornbury hospital i am going back to volunteer there

I was however very concerned to read of your issues with the services provided by C Ward at Southmead Hospital. I would welcome the chance to investigate and understand more about the situation to ensure the concerns you detail can be addressed. I would be grateful of you could contact me via complaints@nbt.nhs.uk and provide your grandfather’s details and consent to facilitate this on his behalf.

I have passed on your comments, both positive and negative, to the staff and managers at Thornbury and Southmead Hospitals.
