I became pregnant and needed help at CUH. In early pregnancy i was turned away offered a scan after a 6 hour wait and told there was nothing i could do about my severe pains and nausea. I went to a private hospital who offered me help and supportive medication. CUH said they wouldnt care to do anything until i was 16 weeks pregnant. CUH delayed important tests such as my diabetes test was done at 32 weeks and diabetes was confirmed at this stage. I was not offered diabetic clinic booking or any help and advice. i was admitted at CUH in the hope ward at 32 weeks as well and broken waters was diagnosed. i suffer with Hypothyroid and mental health disability and initially was offered a C Section. At 32 weeks i was told labour would need to be induced and earliest by 36 weeks because of diabetes as well with no support for managing it. I complained about my mid wife who never did her job because i was under the care of a consultant due to complications. The midwife team did not listen to my instructions and offered only a last the final appointment with a different midwife and no other help even though my care was fully neglected by the initial midwife. I literally went to a private hospital for care and am 37 weeks with my healthy baby still in. I was very sad with how the triage head midwife treated me like i shouldn't be there and going in to triage acting like they are too important too busy and like i shouldn't be there with any of my concerns. I report light leaking since second trimester and nobody cared at all. When on baby monitoring the midwifes would hurt me or leave in a very uncomfortable position. I was asked to see the baby ICU to prepare myself. I wasn't given a chance to say how u felt and i protested against induced labour and wanted a C Section. Everything has been taken care of and dramatically improved under my private care at a different hospital.
