My daughter and I had to be at the assessment unit after getting bloods taken at own doctors just before Xmas eve her midwife sayd she would leave a message for the next morning for the midwives who were in duty .. finding out docs closed rang rvi.

Dudnt have bloods results? Someone said they might be at QE.

? No such thing they didn’t know why I would think there when she was under r vi

Was searching for her results of bloods as was worried as may have obstretic cholAstisis She did

Went to this unit after they must’ve of found results sending us in.

We waited for 5 and half hours.

No information only right at end when we were coming out and daughter so stressed

Had app couple days later fir scan as previous bad experiences before resulting in losing nearly full term baby. .. they were lovely the ladies on the scan dept I mean . but didn’t know she had a problem as not write in book ? Or notes? So after seeing doc got a earlier date fir csection had to go back to the assesment dept as needed injection - app made fir 3.

Sitting again till 5.20 after me ring up an asking why she couldn’t get injection on time was told by a midwife in a phone call. To say.

Well while I’m talking and arguing ? With you on this phone someone could be dying and I will be wasting time if it were your daughter you would want me to help wouldn’t you ?

I am astonished at the lack of care and professionalism today and got to go back to this dept again tomorrow ! Not looking forward to it.

Where has the care gone ?absolutely disgraceful .

So prob gona have a long wait again I am aware that there are emergencies but I’m talking about the care this dept doesn’t give to the patients and not much info and not very friendly.

This is what’s needed and better communication !!!!

Do they not realise lots of women go through awful things they all have their story ..

but this dept seems to no care at all for the patients who have to sit in there and wait and wait and wait. With not much info.

Need to do much more training in care and consideration to pregnant ladies.

Dear Julie,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your review. I am genuinely sorry that you've felt so let down by the maternity assessment service and that our care has fallen very short of the compassionate care you'd expect from us. We'd like to do what we can to put this right and so it would be helpful to understand more about everything that happened whilst you and your daughter were with us. Excessive waiting in busy emergency care departments are frustrating for both patients and staff - I'm so sorry that the pressure in our system didn't allow us to get to you sooner. I can appreciate what this time worrying would have meant to your daughter given her history of loss.

I'd be very grateful if you'd be willing to work with us with improvement in mind - please let me know your contact details and I'll ask a senior member of the midwifery team to get in touch. My email is Annie. laverty@nhct.nhs.uk

With best wishes,

Annie
