"Communication"

About: Barnsley Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I attended an appointment was examined/prescribed and told I would receive a telephone call three weeks later as a follow-up to see how I was doing.

I subsequently received a letter confirming the appointment to visit the hospital. Within a day I received another letter to tell me I didn't need to visit the hospital and someone would contact me by phone (I had already been told this).

Just this week I have received two letters one telling me that I would receive a phone call, the other telling me that the telephone appointment had had to be cancelled.

How confusing this is, and would be worse for someone elderly with less brain power. Also what a waste of time, effort and money duplicating correspondence like this.
