"Terrible!"

About: Leeds General Infirmary

Anything else?

This wasn't a visit of my own, My partner was having extremely bad kidney pains, to the point where he was crying, which must have been bad because he never complains or moans about anything ( hard to believe about a man but it's true ) He was taken to A&E by an ambulance arriving at 1:30am. The first nurse or whatever she was that dealt with him was so rude and unhelpful, she moved him around like there was nothing wrong with him, rudeley told him that they needed a urine sample be4 they could do anything, bearing in mind he was in agony from his kidneys and couldn't wee. She was so abrupt. I can't handle people being sick, I need to be out of a room when this is happeneing, He was cirled up on the floor throwing up with blood also included, I asked the nurse to help him as i couldn't and she said leave him he'll be fine! hmm charming! It wasn't until 6am that they gave him some pain relief! So he might as well have been sat at home! All of the staff were so load and annoying, More interested in getting the staff printer working and getting their holidays booked in than attending to the patients! I could go on all day really, but it won't make a difference so heres my little rant. The nurses were terrible!!! about 10 of them asked him the same information over and over as though they had no internal communication. I would like to see what they would think if they had this type of service? I thought when you went into this kind of job you were supposed to be a people person and actually care.RudeAmbulanceCommunicationPatient careServiceNursing staff

Firstly, we apologise for the delay in responding to your posting on the Patient Opinion website.

I was sorry to learn of that you found the staff in A&E rude and unhelpful and that he had to wait over 5 hours for pain relief.

We will pass your comments on to the Patient Relations Manager at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You can also contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on freephone 0800 0525 270 for advice on how to make a complaint.

Thank you once again for taking the time to record your partner’s experience.
