"Suberb care given to my father"

About: Solihull Hospital

What I liked

Comment received via letter to the Trust and published with permission of the author:

In the current climate when it is almost fashionable to criticise and complain about standards in the NHS, I can happily report the contrary.

I would like to bring your attention to the suberb care that my father received from your nurses on the Acute Stroke Unit (Ward 8) at Solihull Hospital.

My dad suffered a major second stroke in October, whilst resident at a care centre and after a short spell in the AMU and Ward 20B arrived on Ward 8.

I have visited everyday with my mother who has her own health problems. The kindness and professionalism shown to both of us has been simply wonderful. We have been kept informed and helped at every stage of dads decline.

The sister on the ward gave a lot of her time to explain and help the effect of a stroke and tirelessly answered my searching questions.

The Palliative Care Sister was very sincere and helpful at all our meetings and I appreciate her support.

Many thanksPalliative careStrokeAttentivePatient careProfessionalismStroke servicesNursing staff
