"Unable to make advance appointment asked to..."

About: Dr Ahmad

Tried to make appointment, suffering from chronic back pain.

Receptionist told me, no appointments today and unable to make advance appointment tomorrow, please ring 9am tomorrow to make same day appointment.

What will that do?

Everybody will ring at 9am trying to make same day appointments.

When will this archaic draconian system of not being able to make advance appointments come into the 21st century? Have you not heard of a diary?

I'm going to try at 9am, if I don't get through I'll go and waste A&E's precious time.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you were unable to make an appointment when you wanted. We do offer advance appointments as our appointment system releases a number of pre-bookable appointments throughout the weeks however once those appointments are used the rest are book on the day. These are booked from 9am via face to face contact & the telephone. Sometimes the appointments are used quickly & other days we still have appointments available throughout the day.

We hope this has explained how our system works, that we do have advance booking appointments & we do try to fit all patients in when they want. Unfortunately that cannot always be the case & for that we can only apologise.

Thank you
