What I liked

The treatment for my heart attack (primary PCI) was very quick, straight into the cath lab and procedure went ahead. There was a professional care on the Acute Coronary Ward that managed to control the bleeding from the groin wound well. The staff were personal and helpful. I was happy with the food. The cardiologist was helpful (in the cath lab) giving painkillers when doing a procedure for the clinical trial when my back was very painful after the bone marrow aspiration procedure earlier that day.

What could be improved

On day 3 I had to take the lift down to the MRI scanning department as there was no porter available to take us. This was okay as my wife accompanied me and she is a cardiac nurse anyway and we were able to get down and have the MRI scan without missing my slot.

Anything else?

Nursing staff were friendly and helpful. Cardiologists did a great job both in saving my life initially and with the procedure for potentially reintroducing stem cells into the heart as part of the clinical trial.Heart attackPainkillersWoundsFoodPatient careMRI scanningNursing staffPorters

We are delighted that you were so pleased with the care and attention you received at the Heart Hospital. We are disappointed to hear about the lack of a porter. Your compliments and comments have been forwarded to the Divisonal Manager for Cardiac Services.
