About: Rampton Hospital / National High Secure Healthcare Service for Women

(as the patient),

I would like more co-operation between wards for the Sense of Community project. I would like meetings about the other wards and to hear what they think about the project. I have not been involved, I don’t feel like anything has changed although I wish it had.

thank you for affording the time to share your views on the Sense of Commujnity project. The Sense of Community is discussed at the Women's Services Recovery, Involvement and Experience (RICE) forum which are held monthly. I would encourage you to attend. In the New Year I shall also be attending the ward community meetings to discuss the benefits and value of the project and discuss the way forward.

As you are aware Ruby ward’s Rubettes Garden won the trophy for presenting the best sense of community in the first phase of the project. In the second phase of the Project, all the women’s service received their certificates at their carol service on 18th December with Outstanding Achievement awards going to the leading ward in each of the five categories. The theme “ What Christmas means to me” was interpreted well and in a variety of ways. We continue to monitor whether the projects have made a difference to the ward and sense of community via the ward community meetings and the ward managers. At the monthly National High Secure Service for Women's Recovery and Involvement Group meeting, all wards share their progress and challenges in building and maintaining healthy communities.

The Services has shown that whatever theme is chosen, the project has provided opportunities for all members of each ward community to engage in positive interactions and for showcasing the differing creative skills of patients and staff.
