What could be improved

Patient Care - In A&E this was good in the medical assessment unit it was shocking.

Anything else?

My partner stayed at this hospital last May and to be honest it was the worst hospital experience I've ever known to the point where if I was ever ill I would not go there I'd travel the extra couple of miles to North Manchester General or Salford Royal.

I'd taken my partner to the GP in the morning as he was having extreamly bad stomach pains, the doctor said to take him straight to A&E and gave us a note to give to the receptionist saying he needed to be admitted it also had his temperature etc for the dr at the hospital.

The receptonist was very dismissive despite him being barely able to stand from pain and having gone a very odd colour and being covered in sweat.

We eventually saw the assessment nurse after 20 minutes who had him taken straight into a room where he was given morphene.

He was taken to an assessment ward where he was supposed to have an ultra sound scan and see a consultant. The consultant saw him at 5:30pm we'd been there since 9.15 and said to keep him in overnight for observations but that they wouldn't be doing any treatment and that he should now eat as he had been being told all day no food or drink she asked the nursing staff to organise him a meal but didn't give him any food so after asking twice, I went to a vending machine, the man in the bed opposite asked the nurse 3 times for water but was never brought any.

The next morning he was discharged at 11am but was given no breakfast when he got up and not a single drink during his stay and the worst part was he woke up at 7am as medicine was being put into the needle in the back of his hand he asked the nurse what it was, she said its(whatever it was) and then another person's name, he said that's not me, she looked at the name above his bed and said oh sorry it's not for you, so we have no idea what he was given but the whole thing from start to end seemed like a complete total and utter shambles.DismissiveTemperatureConsultantsDoctorsReception staffDrinksFoodPatient careReceptionNursing staff
