What could be improved

Unlike the positive comment about the blood test I found the music a problem. I am deaf and use hearing aids. Additional noise makes it very difficult for deaf people to hear what is being said to us. So please do not make are life more difficult by introducing more background noise.

Also on the negative side it often takes an age before the phone is answered when ringing for an appointment and a weeks wait is the norm.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of the experience you had whilst attending Lymington New Forest Hospital for your blood test. I understand that the music being played can be an annoyance, especially when you are hard of hearing. Having spoken to the phlebotomists they have advised that should a patient request that the music be turned down during their visit then they would certainly accomodate this. We do have an entertainments licence for playing music as we have an in house hospital radio station and this is generally well recieved by members of the public, but I do appreciate that it is not agreeable with everyone.

I am sorry that you have had such problems when ringing to make an appointment. I can assure you that we do have staff in place to answer the phone but also that the service is in very high demand meaning the phone can be engaged at times.
