"Appalling unsafe response from crisis team"

About: Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust

(as a carer),

I am writing this at early on a Saturday morning. I am with my mum who's become so incredibly distressed by the actions of the crisis team. Not once did they pick up in person when she rang between 7pm and 10 pm last night because she was hearing voices and wanted to know where she could go to be safe.

Every call went to answerphone. She had borrowed a neighbours phone as doesn't have one.

She tried leave a message.

12 hours later Camden crisis team put in an Emergency call to police to attend her property as they don't do home visits. Not even at early the next morning 12 Hours later. So 5 police & 2 paramedics force their way in (based on the crisis team direction) causing a level of distress and perceived threat off the scale. Failed of course to tell police she has severe physical disabilities and can't get to front door easily. Which the Trust know Full well.

This is the level of care. It took 12 hours to listen to a Friday evening call and they have escalated a situation to extreme high risk by calling in police in the Full knowledge just how distressing this is to a lone woman terrified in her own home. Who simply needed a conversation with a female worker because she was frightened. And now she's terrified. Which we can only wonder about the intention as the Trust know how much criticism there has been about Camden crisis team always calling police because as a Trust they fail to provide round out of hours crisis care.

Police & paramedics realised their presence was making the situation so much more unsafe so withdrew. They have no powers to remove which the crisis team know only so well. It was a brutal aggressive act

Presumably taken because at change of shift a manager picked up that yet again the crisis team hadn't responded to someone in extreme distress.

Any manager responding to this,  don't tell me to contact you to discuss. Why for a change don't you contact family and individuals directly after such an event and apologize. You know the people who do this to. You keep records. I've given you the time frame. So poor level of care. But so typical in our view. I feel from my experience that you are unsafe as a service
