What could be improved
communication with patients.
I had an out patients appointment with the gynaecologist today. Unfortunately I was not pleased with the way the Dr delt with my consultation. I felt as if there was no point for me to go to the appointment. I allowed the Dr time to read my notes, but when he finished he didnt bother to explaining anything to me. his words were "everything is normal". I had to keep on asking questions and to him it seemed as if they were all irrelevant, i had to ask him to explain the results for the tests that i had had and his response was just as cold. Although probably nothing much can be done about my infertility, he could have at least showed a bit of empathy. there was no empathy in him whatsoever. I then asked for clomid, which he agrred to prescribe. he just wrote the prescription and passed it over to me without telling me how i should take it, which i had to ask again, and received another cold response. all he could ask me was about my student nurse training and where i was doing my trainning. i felt so hurt, i was crying all the way home, and even now as i write this note. when you go to see a consultant, even if there is no hope, at times the way you speak to someone relieves the pressure. if everything is well explained, you get into terms with your situation, but not with the consultation i had today. The Dr was just telling me vague accounts of my situation. i felt as if probably he read somewhere, because i didnt tell him, that i am student nurse, i should just put 2 & 2 together and come up with an answer. at last i asked him what would be the forward, and he was like "what forward". I said to him if I do not succeed with the clomid are there any other chances for me like IVF. He responded coldly again saying "no cause you have another child", not even a bother to tell me how i can achieve it pr
however this does not mean i wouldn't recommend anyone to the QE2. I have always had great experiences, just this Dr who didn't seem how to care about patients' feelingsAppointmentsPrescriptionsTest ResultsTemperatureDoctorsIVFConsultantsCommunicationPatient careService
