My catheter blocked and I rung our Bearsted practice after ringing the nurses and only getting an answer phone which is normal because they never seem answer the phone even when they are there .
I explained that my catheter was blocked and I was in severe pain and it was overriding and i had previously rung the practice at 12 50 and was told my request was to be referred to the nurses.
As i had not heard anything I again rung the practice at 2.55 and was told that they would try the nurses room, they came back to me and said that they were overrun with work and would refer it to the out of hours team between 4pm and 6pm.
Which then i was in tears with pain, and the receptionist said they would go back to them.
Anyway within 15 minutes a nurse turned up and changed it for me and it was completely blocked.
The nurse told me there was only two of them working for the Bearsted Practice and also the Len Valley practice, this is a very large area and needs many more nurses to run it.
Why should us patients have to suffer, if I had not complained I would not have been seen.
It is not the nurses fault they are overworked, why wait until there is a fatality before something is done?
