I attended this hospital for my antenatal appointments for my first baby. At my first antenatal booking appointment was told my the midwife very rudely about all the possible risks that my baby could have like stillbirth, blood clots, miscarriage, shoulder dystocia etc
because of my increased BMI. I understand as health care professionals they have to make the patient aware of the risks, but im sure they could have explained it to me in a better way rather than being so unsympathetic and curt about it.
Also, during my first trimester I had a bit of bleeding. Was asked to wait in a & e for 5 hours , since the EPAGU CLOSES at 12.30 pm and there was no one else who could see me. The nurse practitioner finally saw me after 5 hours, did no examination,
I wasn't seen by a doctor either and was told 'if you are bleeding don't worry about It, let nature take its course .' I was in tears because of the lack of care I received from the staff and decided to change hospitals. EPAGU called me after 2 days finally to book me in for a scan to find out the cause for bleeding, but I had already had got the scan done privately by then.
Based on my experience I would not recommend this hospital maternity unit to anyone.
"Horrible experience ."
