"No continuity of care - Endocrine Department"

No continuity of care. In my follow up appointment, that I had only received as I had chased the department for three months straight as I had been left in the dark and I was waiting for blood test and ultrasound results!, I was seen by a different consultant who appeared to have not familiarised themselves with any of my case notes as they asked me whether I required blood tests, ultra sound scan and then proceeded to ask me how the treatment was going...I hadn't been prescribed the treatment as I had not been given another appointment. They then proceeded to prescribe me with medication that after an hour wait I learned that they couldn't dispense it.

Consultant blamed the computer system for not flagging the medication as an issue but this course of treatment is the first step of any treatment for someone with PCOS and as a result this should really have been common knowledge to someone that must have prescribed this medication before.

I am now waiting for my prescription to be posted to me before I can even put it in at my Drs surgery so I'm looking at a two week wait for a prescription that i was promised on Friday...after a three month wait for a follow up appointment!

Deeply dissatisfied and disgusted with the whole experience and am considering seeking private treatment as I feel my issues will not be resolved at all.

Formal complaint being filed to PALS in the hope that my experience doesn't repeat itself for some other poor person at their wits end!
