"Superb care from dedicated staff"

About: Victoria Hospital / General Surgery Victoria Hospital / Surgical High Dependency

(as the patient),

I am writing to express my gratitude to the wonderful consultants, doctors, staff nurses, training nurses and auxilliaries in HDU and Ward 53. They are truly dedicated and work (seemingly) tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of their patients, both physically and emotionally. I wonder if they are aware of the confidence they instil in their charges; nothing is too much trouble for them and their knowledgeable, cheerful, friendly manner put me at ease and cheered me up immensely. There are inevitably some names I haven't mentioned but I am no less grateful to them but of those I can remember a huge thank you to Lorna,  Anne-Marie, Shauni, Megan, Stacy, Jackie, Lauren, Barron, Bob and

I was very fortunate indeed to be under the care of Mr Koffeman.  He and his fantastic team took great care in looking after me and I felt confident knowing I was in good hands. Unfortunately I can't remember everyone's names but they all made me feel very special.  I was in Surgical HDU for a couple of days before transferring to Ward 53. I was monitored closely by the first class nursing team, in particular Kevin, Fiona, Corina, Bobbie and Dr McIntyre.

In the ERCP Unit Dr Wilson took great care in talking me through the procedure, which I was very nervous about but as it turns out really wasn't bad at all. He patiently answered my questions and Anne was very gentle and expertly put me at ease. They were both very compassionate and I did appreciate it when they took time to trace my movements so that they could pop along to monitor my progress and showed me such kindness.

The care and attention I received from everyone concerned in my recovery certainly lifted my spirits.
