"Endometriosis and sub fertility Consultation"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital / Gynaecology

After recently suffering an ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis was found In my pelvis. I had a follow up consultation today with one particular consultant, who was caring, compassionate, and very honest while at the same time being gentle and sensitive. They completely involved my husband and I in the decision making regarding the next steps in our fertility journey and in dealing with the endometriosis. Can't thank them enough for being so wonderful.

The only down side I would say, is for a woman who is struggling with fertility and has had pregnancy losses, it is very overwhelming having to wait in the same waiting room as loads of happy couples with lovely big bumps, with massive baby posters and signs everywhere. I closed my eyes and put my head down, but there was an audio/tv recording of advice to women on how to breast feed. It would be good if the waiting room could be a little bit less in your face. The baby door isn't closed for me yet and it was still very overwhelming and upsetting for me. But I feel very sorry for women who may be there to discuss a hysterectomy or complete infertility, and having all of that attacking your senses. Not sure if anything could be done about it or whether another waiting room would be possible, but thought it was worth mentioning. Thanks, Lauren.
