I was told there was no beds available to start my induction on the set date I was given and to go to north Manchester. I was really disappointed but understand these things happen.
I then went into Oldham antenatal on this same day to have baby's movements monitored and the lovely lady got me a bed and induction was started!
6 hrs later, labour started and I wasn't given a great deal of support through the night on antenatal and I was so disappointed at how my fiance was treated... Not once was he offered a drink, told to get off the bed in case he caused infection?!
I totally appreciate its me going through the labour and the care, but he deserved to be there as much as me and a simple offer of water isn't too much to ask. Maybe in future look to something more like sofa bed for partners to sleep on cause the chair looked so uncomfortable and it could have been a much longer night as it is for many.
Anyway was eventually moved onto labour ward after asking to be examined and discovered I was ready to go... Got to labour ward and within half hour had my beautiful daughter... Perfect care up there on the ward and perfect aftercare.
Highs and lows all round but would recommend Oldham hospital if someone asked!
