"Children's Assessment Unit (CAU)"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Wow, really impressed!

We were sent by our GP to the CAU on Friday 10th November 2017. The unit was easy to find and we were welcomed by a person who was very helpful indeed. Our wait was short and we were made to feel comfortable so much so that my 7 year old daughter was relaxed and not worried about being in a hospital at all!

All staff were genuinely caring and treated us both with respect, explaining everything that was happening and what would happen next, and even how long it might be.

The play leader was fantastic, they quickly worked out what our little girl preferred and found toys and puzzles to suit. We just didn't have any waits long enough to really finish anything.

We were only in for about 3 hours in total and left feeling well informed and confident that we had the best treatment. She is already recovering and we have a really positive opinion of the CAU and the staff.

Thank you!!

Dear reviewer, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Children's & Adolescent Services.

We are pleased to hear that you and your daughter had such a good experience and your comments will be forwarded to the teams involved in her care.

Its really nice to hear that the facilities and staff helped your daughter relax and she did not appear to be overtly worried about visiting hospital.

Best wishes and glad she is on the mend, kind regards Communications Team, Leicester's Hospitals.
