"Appaulling, dreadful, no sense of..."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

What I liked

Nothing - i was a patient and never in my life woudl i go back there, i have complained to my GP and in future i will be cared for further south South Tees.

What could be improved

I was admitted with acute abdominal pain - i was placed in a bed not greeted, or introduced told that we are abusy ward and we will get to you when we can as i was told by the sister.

Poor patients food left at the bottom of the bed one patient i had to help give drinks as no one came to her aid - she was laid in a wet bed i told the sister who was always sat in the office - thats where the Sisters' and male Sister what ever you call them congregate... the staff will come, the auxiliarys where run off thier feet while they sit why could they not come and asist this frail lady! - no to hear am going for a "fag" and off they both went, beggars belief. In the end the HCA helped.

There is no organisation, no leadership and essentially no care - it is appauling - they sit and congregate in the office the Sister's and leave the others to work, they cannot do it all.

My advice if you need any surgery go to JCH or North Tees - keep well away if you dont want an infection, its untidy, and awful.

Anything else?

The management of this ward need to be visible and be seen not all sat in the office laughing giggling - lazy all of them.

Poor HCA's
