I have glaucoma and have been treated for this in the old eye hospital for a number of years. In early 2009 I was diagnosed with cataracts and referred to another specialist who would treat this condition. To cut a long story short it was decided I would have to have an operation and after months, and I mean months of appointments I was told the operation would be in February 2010.
I rang in June 2010 and was told that the operation was scheduled for May but had been delayed. I was disappointed but what could I do. I know the lens I would have to have is a special one due to my eye condition and that was the possible reason I would have to wait.
I rang this morning and spoke to a very nice person but they could not give me an answer, my surgeon is away at the moment and will not be back on till January.
My point is why can’t someone keep me informed as to what is my position. I am quick literally going blind because my other eye which had a small cataract is getting worse.
I work; I am going to lose my job if this operation is not done.
