"Unclean, Unproffessional nurses, Lack of..."

About: Watford General Hospital

What I liked

When i was finally seen by a doctor she was very pleasant to me, explained everything and kept my informed allowing me to make choices about my care.

What could be improved

The cleanlyness and decor shocked me. I had to step around large spots of blood on the floor on several occasions, the cubicle had evidence of the last person there with slightly stained bedding. I was reasonable quickly seen by different nurses doing the usual blood pressure checks etc. but then was not even acknowledged for another two hours, not even asked if i wanted my curtains closed for a bit of dignity, staff just stood around the central desk area asking phones, looking at computers, having a bit of a chat and occasionally glancing over at me before looking away again. There was a lady who evidently had some form of dementia a few cubicles down from me who was very distressed and seemed to have no awareness of where she was, nurses were ignoring her calls and eventually when someone went down on their return they would walk away giggling and mocking what she was saying. Very Unproffesional. Oh and then they didnt have supplies of what they needed to give me!

Anything else?

Admitted by ambulance on a mid week evening.
