What could be improved

Took my friend to the A&E after a fall on the ice the Saturday before last. She was told two different things - nurse said that the joint could be broken, but then radiologist took x-rays and said that it didn't look broken. Her arm was put in a sling. However, was told there wasn't a doctor available, so would have to come back in a weeks time, which we did, and were then told that it was broken, but would have to wait a week for a cast! Appointment was made for Thursday with the hand clinic, even though it's a broken elbow - no explanation. Called by the hospital on Monday of this week to say that they had a slot for her - but arrived and had to wait 5 hours, only to have sling taken away and no cast applied as the injury was no longer a simple break... perhaps because it was over a fortnight without any treatment?! Amazingly slack service - trying out the Royal Hampshire County next time methinks!
