"I came away with a really positive view..."

About: Salisbury District Hospital

What I liked

Almost all of the nurses treated me with great care and respect - some went beyond the call of duty and created a great atmosphere in the Laverstock ward where I was placed. I really felt well looked after and some of the nurses had such good moods it was passed onto the patients. Please pass on my thanks to everyone on the Laverstock ward including the nurses, the porters, the cleaners, the caterers, receptionists and everyone else involved.

The food was quite nice and the tea and coffee was really appreciated. I liked the conveniency of the T.V / telephone system.

I was very pleased with the high degree of expertise and the results of my operation by the Consultant and her team.

What could be improved

More movies on the TV system and better internet with fewer restrictions (streaming video sites should be allowed). Maybe electronic interaction with other patients similar to what they have on aeroplanes e.g playing electronic chess with patients in other beds.

I think there should be more notes on every detail of the operation in the patients folder written in non medical English so both the patient and handover doctors would be really well informed of the situation because doctors are really busy and patients only get a limited time to speak to their doctors and often I remembered lots of questions I wanted to ask after doctors had left my bedside.

Anything else?

I don't know how possible it is but I would have found a video of my operation interesting from a curiosity point of view..
