About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

What I liked

The system worked like a dream, from my GP phoning through to the DVT (deep vein thrombosis) department at Bournemouth, my arrival was expected and from then on I was taken care of and whisked through for tests and procedures with care and efficiency. All precautions were taken as I was suspected of having had a minor stroke. I was kept up to date at all times and waiting time was very short. All the staff were very helpful and explanatory. My wife and I were given sandwiches and coffee - we were in the department for a total of 4 hours.

A fast track appointment was supplied for two days later and the Consultant Stroke Physician was most thorough and efficient. The specialist stroke nurse was very kind and helpful and also very efficient. Pharmacy were also very helpful telling us about prescription pre payment, while pathology were also helpful and friendly. I took advantage of a cancellation which was phoned through to me for an MRI and that test was also made easy and on time.

What could be improved

I cannot think of one thing which could have been improved upon. 10 out of 10 - Well done Bournemouth and thank you.

Anything else?

I would appreciate it, if all the departments involved were given a copy of the above comments as all too often it is the negative comments that are highlighted,
