What I liked

I have opted to have my baby at Lister instead of my local hospital (L&D). I went for my booking appointment today as I am due in 10 weeks time. I am very impressed with the services at Lister, the staff are fantastic, I felt I very relaxed and was given all the time I needed to talk things through without feeling rushed at all.

Previously I have felt very anxious about the birth and did not feel very comnfortable at L&D, but since my visit today at Lister I am totally prepared and relaxed for the big day.

The new unit will hopefully be up and running when I have my baby which will make my experience even better, the new unit is well deserved by all staff at Lister.

What could be improved

I was waiting an hour over my appointment time to be seen but to be honest I do not mind as I am glad patients are able to have the time they need with the midwife rather than being rushed so that others are not waiting too long. I saw the midwife for 45 minutes today as I had a lot of concerns and questions. I was not rushed at all and this allowed me to discuss everything that was on my mind.

We're so pleased that your experience of the Lister's maternity service was such a good one. And by the sounds of things, you will more than likely be having your baby in our fantastic new maternity wing, as we hope that the first mothers will be having their babies there from the middle of December 2010.
