What I liked
The nurse that I saw for my initial assessement and the Dr that treated me were both fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they were kind, understanding and caring in their treatment of me. Both of these members of staff were a real credit to the hospital and indeed the medical profession -thank you!
What could be improved
Unfortunately the nurse on reception and the receptionist were unfriendly and unwelcoming and made me feel uncomfortable. Their tone was abrupt and I got the impression that they were just waiting to go home (it was ten to five). I though maybe I was being a little sensitive so did not voice my opinion but later witnessed them speaking/dealing with the next patient in exactly the same way. I thought about this treatment over the weekend but decided not to do anything about it as hoped that these people were simply having a 'bad day'. However when I telephoned the a and e department earlier this morning for some advice I spoke to the same nurse that had been on recepotion on Friday afternoon and yet again felt her tone was abrupt and rude. I am writing quite simply because I feel it is such a shame that all the hard work, dedication and care of the great majority of the staff at the eye hospital is being over shadowed by the lack of care this person shows.
