"Excellent, but with a huge let down when..."

What I liked

I was admitted to hospital on the 13th November with severe abdominal pain and was initially placed in the Shuttleworth ward. After a CT scan diagnosed my gynaecological condition I was transferred to the Orchard Gynae Ward. Overall, my treatment was excellent and the staff were very kind, caring and understanding.

What could be improved

It is with a lot of regret therefore that I was severely let down on the night I had my operation (Tuesday 23rd November). I woke up in agonising pain at midnight and called for help only to be told by the healthcare assistant who was on duty that I just needed to move around more. To cut a very long story short, I did eventually receive some medication but only after using the call bell 4 times and sobbing my eyes out in pain for nearly 5 hours, waking other patients in the process. This assistant and the nurse who was with her that night sorely let down an otherwise faultless ward.
