About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

What I liked

I was taken to A & E in the ealrly hours a week ago, I was seen within 5 minutes of being there and put into a cubical where the staff were brilliant, they were so kind and explained everything to me even though I wasn't really with it but they explained it all to my husband too. After a few hours I was admitted to CDU where I stayed for 3 days until they got me stable, again I couldn't have wished for better staff. Not only were the doctors and nurses very caring and helpful the domestic staff were so nice also. I was in quite a bad way and nothing was too much trouble. There was one nurse on the night shift that was a bit offish and wouldn't give me the pain relief that the doctor had wrote me down for and I do think that because of this it set me back a day. Apart from them my stay there was good. After 3 days I was put in a ward because of my diabetes so that I could recieve the care I needed for that as it had got out of control due to me being ill. The staff in this ward were also very good. It was a noisy ward due to the ill patients and after the first night they asked if I wanted to go in a side room to get some rest. All in all I couldn't have wished for better care throughout and even if I had paid to go into a private hospital I know I wouldn't have got the same amount of care. It annoys me how people run the staff down. There was a woman in there who didnt stop moaning about everything and as ill as I was I told her what I thought of her. People should give the hospital staff more support and praise, they do a brilliant job. Thank you everyone who looked after me x
