What I liked
These comments result from my accompanying a friend to A&E. Arriving at 5.00am and leaving at 12.30pm.
During that time the medical staff were pleasant despite decision making being extremely slow. However very surprised at the number of different staff it took to liaise with the patient. The process was disconnected with apparently little communication between staff members.
What could be improved
1.Faster and more coordinated decision making.
2. More communication between patient and staff required. Long periods elapsed without any communication.
3.After spending approx 5.5 hours at The Hospital, when going to pharmacy to get an antibiotic prescription (tablets) we were kept waiting for another 55 minutes to dispense the prescription.
The Pharmacy Department is a disgrace in the way it operates. If private chemists operated in the same way they would be out of Business. Th lack of regard for patients just sitting and waiting for standard prescriptions is unacceptable.
This department needs an urgent review by Manangement to improve all aspects of the way it operates.
Anything else?
Not A hospital that I could recommend, and if given a personal choice I will not select this Hospital in the future.
