"This surgery needs a major overhaul"

About: Woodroyd Medical Practice

I have just come out of hospital after having a chest infection and was told to make an appointment with the nurse to check my breathing and bring my records up to date. I went to make an appointment only to be told I cannot see a nurse till I have seen a doctor but there are no appointments for the next two weeks.

What a sham.

The receptionist said I can make one online but that was ok for first few weeks now you can only book appointments for a fortnight after.

Something needs to be done about this.

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you received from the practice receptionist and difficulties in getting an appointment. We are continually working to improve our appointment system. There are many ways in which you can book an appointment: You can call at 9am in the morning or come to the surgery in the morning to book an appointment as the phone lines are very busy in the morning.

We have worked very hard over the years with the patient group to improve the system. We also pre-book appointments on a Monday.

Thank you
