"What's the point"

About: Woodroyd Medical Practice

me and my family have been registered with this practice since they were first situated on Manchester Road. I can honestly say that I very very rarely have any good feedback for this practice. there are only one or two of the reception staff that are helpful. The reception now think they have the ability to diagnose you themselves by asking the most ridiculous things ever. I recently needed to see the Dr (any Dr would have been ok), I called the practice 86 times before I got through just to be told all appointments have gone. I started calling at 9am and spoke to someone at around 9:45. As a working woman I feel the practice does very little to accommodate many individuals like me who have a 9-5 job. In many occasions I've just gone and sat in A&E because I've been that desperate or called 111. It's ridiculous!

Thank you for you feedback and kind words about our receptionists, I will pass on your compliments.

I am constantly looking at our appointment system to see if we can refine what we do and make it easier for patients to book as it is very difficult to accommodate everyone with an appointment. We also have Saturday morning clinics for people who work and cannot attend during the week; those appointments are available to book on a Thursday.

Patient surveys have indicated that the vast majority are happy with the appointment system. Having said this, we appreciate that there is always room for improvement.

We would like to remind you that there are several appointment types:

Emergency Same day appointments, routine appointments (bookable 1 week in advance), additionally, some patients have found booking appointments online to be more convenient.

Finally, we would like to hear your thoughts and would encourage you to contact the practice manager in order for us to improve the system further. We value this feedback and would encourage you to become a member of our patient representative group so we can positively improve systems further.
