What I liked
My 87 year old father [widowed 3 weeks earlier] was admitted last Friday afternoon & kept in for tests & observations until yesterday. He was extremely well looked after by the Consultant team in Zachary Cope ward. The nursing staff were all very efficient & nothing was too much trouble for them. My father was kept fully informed of the situation regarding his health & was not discharged until the medical team were certain that he was symptom-free.
The discharge procedure was very smooth & transport was immediately available when we left the ward. We were confident that my father was in the very best hands during his stay. Future treatment options were very clearly presented to him & we were given time to ask questions & discuss the situation in detail.
What could be improved
Nothing - except for availability of visitors' toilets!
Anything else?
The ward was spotlessly clean. The food was excellent with a very wide choice & always hot & well-presented.
