"My GP rang the Clinical Assessment Unit..."

About: King's Mill Hospital

What I liked

My GP rang the Clinical Assessment Unit as I had not been responding to antibiotics. The Unit told me to go that evening. I was later admitted and had an operation the very next morning. All staff were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I could not fault the care I received - from the auxilliary staff to the consultant and surgeon. This was the first time I had had an operation or even stayed in hospital. They really helped to out me at ease. Thank you to all staff involved.

What could be improved

Nothing - I could possibly have seen a doctor more quickly, but I was aware that other patients were in more pain and discomfort than myslef and it was an unusually busy evening.

Anything else?

This is my first direct dealing with King's Mill Hospital and I have to be honest and say my previous impression was a negative one (form the media and talking to people who had stayed there). However, my personal experience was a very good one and I think the new building is stunning - both inside and outside.
