What I liked
From the volunteer directing patients in outpatients, through to the consultant surgeon who performed my prostatetectomy, the ward staff, and the support once discharged, and all the other individuals involved in my treatment, whether during the day, at night, or at weekends, were always pleasant, caring, and professional. Both my wife and I appreciated the information and communication received throughout.
What could be improved
The NHS policy on the issue of incontinence pads needs to be revised to meet the needs of the patients. Currently you are given supplies piecemeal, told you may have to buy pads privately, and when granted a supply on the NHS they took a week to delivered. A common fault in a number of hospitals is the long waiting time for outpatient blood tests.
The website feedback form offers the choice of "The Service Department I visited was" and only offers Maternity or please select, and would not allow a department e.g. Urology to be typed in.
Anything else?
Exceptional Treatment
My consultant checked me out on a Saturday morning whilst he was on his way to a family holiday.
"A very good standard of treatment..."
