I have to say that changing to this practice some 3 years ago was one of the best things me and my husband could have done.
In stark contrast to the experiences we had at our previous surgery I can safely state that at all times we have been treated with patience, respect and kindness.
The outstanding patient care was ably demonstrated on Friday 15th April when I had to call the practice quite late in the afternoon.
My husband had a mouth, jaw and dental issue but our NHS dentist refused to prescribe the only pain relief my husband could take.
We asked for anything appropriate at our local chemist but we were told to ring the surgery.
My husband (never one to bother a doctor) did not wish to ring but I was so worried about him, so I made the call.
I rang the enquiry line and explained the issue (e.g. my husband has an ongoing issue that results in him being unable to take over the counter pain relief), the very kind member of staff who responded listened and then had a chat with the dispensary, then a doctor came on the line, who listened to this rather Catch 22 situation with patience and understanding.
The Doctor was then able to write a prescription for me to pick up immediately.
This may sound strange but not at any previous health centre/surgery have I ever received such wonderful and compassionate care.
This is just one example.
On a personal level I have also received excellent ongoing care since changing to Brough and I am eternally grateful.
