"Why close every Wednesday afternoon?"

About: Kings Medical Centre

The doctors, nurses and reception staff at this surgery are fantastic. We feel valued and cared for. However, I do not understand why they are closed every Wednesday afternoon? Today my one year old developed a rash with a temperature and was crying incessantly at lunch time, with no possibility of seeing a doctor. As we don't drive it was a frustrating day of unpredictable public transport to Whipps Cross, with a crying one year old who has a fever. Getting home very late after an incredibly long wait, once we finally got to the hospital. With any other surgery, this would not have been the case. As a working mum I am sadly having to consider shifting surgeries. I can't ensure my child never gets really sick on a Wednesday afternoon and today has not only proven the incredible value of our NHS and great surgeries but the problems that arise in their closure or unavailability.
