"Update on The Doctors who treated me from The..."

About: Witham Health Centre

I was a patient at this doctors and want to tell my story.

I had skin problems which started as a rash and now is all over my body. I spent a year in discomfort with these doctors because they didn't diagnose me correctly its not that I complain about that but the way I was treated was disgusting.

They gave me creams EVERY time I visited them with the SAME problem and when I came back to the surgery with no relief from the creams and visually my skin was no better I was then told by two of the doctors there I wasn't putting the creams on correctly.

How dare they judge me for what do they know if I was or wasn't putting the cream on correctly?

I assured them I was and I needed to be referred to a skin expert.

Turns out I had and still have T-Cell lymphoma.

I literally walked out after that and said a few words which I don't regret and was told not to come back.

I went to another doctors in Witham and straight away they agreed with me and sent me to a specialist.

Granted it took a while to get to the correct diagnosis but spending a year with the condition I had with these doctors not once did they test me for anything other than giving me coconut cream prescriptions or advice on coconut cream to buy over the counter.

Which the other doctors im now with said how do they know coconut cream isn't causing it?

Which it wasn't but proves a point that these doctors in my opinion were not doing there job correctly and in fact when I spoke to other doctors and nurses they agreed with my frustration with them.

I speak the truth and when I left the surgery I was told never to come back. I was shocked with the letter I received and I thought id wait until I find out whats wrong with me as they made me feel hopeless, depressed and fed up because I wasnt being listened too and fed up every time I was being fobbed off with useless information and I was the one that wasnt doing it right.

I knew I wasn't well and something was wrong but with surgerys like this you don't want to prolong the agony because your made to feel the way I was.

I hope people find this info helpful. People will have a honest review albeit a negative one to base there own opinions.

Very unprofessional

Thank you your comments that you have put on NHS choices for all to see. We appreciate that you wanted to tell/share your story.

It is unfortunate that you have decided to take this route before notifying us or coming to the GP practice to have these issues dealt with and resolved. I cannot discuss your case on NHS choices but I will address particular issues regarding certain comments made.

I am sorry to hear that you spent a year in discomfort at our practice and state that you were not diagnosed correctly. T-cell lymphoma, in the early stages the skin patches can look like other common conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. There are only about 4 cases diagnosed for every million in the population.

It states you received a letter from us and that you were not happy about it.

We take this comment on board but what you failed to mention whilst stating all the above you were sent this particular letter due to your abusive and aggressive behavior towards members of our staff and patients in the waiting room. There were some unfavorable comments made by you towards our GPs which we decided not to accept.

We have a zero tolerance policy here and we will not tolerate behavior that becomes threatening towards staff members or patients. It is inappropriate and unfair to subject members of staff and the public to such behavior.

I cannot divulge into your clinical history unlike you have; regarding your consultation due to patient confidentiality and data protection but the practice will say if it had been brought to our attention about all the above, we would have worked hard with you to resolve the issues presented on this website.

We cannot do anything about certain issues if we are unaware of them or they are not brought to our attention. The practice staff do their upmost for patients here at Dr Mohanty & Partners and reading comments such as this, does not boost moral when working in a challenging environment. Most of the time issues such as this brought to our attention are resolved quickly and we learn from them with a positive outcome.

It is such a shame that this has been put on NHS choices.
