"Great to see patients have their own..."

About: North Manchester General Hospital

What could be improved

Great to see patients have their own locked meds cabinet at their bedside with their meds, but there also needs to be a prescribed record in there as well as in the patients file.

I was left for at least 1/2 a day without any pain killers after an operation because my file had gone to the pharmacy to get my meds for going home.

After enquiring several times for pain relieve and being refused every time the unsympathetic nurse came to me at 18.30 to give a feeble apology stating my file had been on the ward all day.

I was then given 48hrs worth of pain relieve and told to go to my GP for another 7 days, of which I have had to pay for.
