"Having taken my daughter into A&E..."

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

What could be improved

Having taken my daughter into A&E suffering from severe abdominal pain asked the receptionist if she could help...was told she would when she'd finished what she was doing!

After being taken to a cubicule she was given pain relief which had adverse effects so I went to the nurse station for help...to be met by the same person her reaction was...shes on a bed isn't she? well yes I replied...well she'll be ok then. When a loved one is really not well its just not acceptable to be growled at.

Sorry but I expect to be spoke to in a proper manner as do hopital staff!

If they don't want to be civil to patients and carers they need to find another profession.

I'm really sorry to read about your experience - as this is not the standard we aim to provide. Please call our Advice Centre so we can get your details and address this issue appropriately. The number is 01246 512640. In the meantime please pass on our regards to your daughter and I hope she is recovering. Sarah Turner-Saint, Head of Communications
