"Surgery was closed! Unofficially!?"

About: Tame Valley Medical Centre

Just been in a 'call queue' for 60 mins. On 27th December from 4 pm till 5pm.Moved from position 3 to position 1 in a hour! I jumped in my car whilst still ringing the surgery and it wasn't even open!

Yet on the line I was still in a queue?! They had closed early and not put the go to doc message on. Absolutely apappalled. Disgusting!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment here on NHS Choices. Sadly as you have chosen to post annoymously we are unable to contact you directly to discuss your comments.

I was sorry to read that you had a problem with the phone system, this was looked into on the next working day and a technical problem caused the automated response advising that the practice was closed on that day to fail. This was immediate resolved and has caused no further problems since. With regards to your title that the practice was closed "unofficially" im afraid this is incorrect, as Tuesday 27th December was a national Bank Holiday and no practices were open that day. Practice opening information was made available in practice prior to christmas and also published on the practice website.(www.tamevalleymedcentre.co.uk)

Should you wish to discuss this further i would be happy to do so, please contact me via the surgery number 0161 330 7747.

Sincerely

Joanne Causer

Practice Manager
