What I liked
Not a lot
What could be improved
I was admitted on the Friday Morning from A&E to the MAU and discharged later that day.
When I was re admitted unable to breath the next day i was classes as a failed discharge.
I was re sent the MAU in the middle of the night.
The Man in the next bed died and I was left next to this body for serveral hours.
In that time I hadn't seen a doctor as I had to wait to the next morning till the doctor who discharged me came on duty - please note I was unable to breath and was put on very high oxygen.
During the hours next to this poor dead man, he had a visit for 6 doctors.
his family wanted to have a preist to come see there father - but the nurses wouldn't allow due to other people one the ward
Well I was the only person on the ward at that time and I didn't mind. Respect an all that!
They failed to give me breakfast as I'd managed to get some sleep by this time following being given some treatment, and I wanted a drink but the nurses were to busy, another patient ended up going to the shop for me for some juice.
I was then transferred to another ward - which was a day care centre which was closed as near xmas - 2 nursers for 10 people all day 4 at night??? the nurses did there best!
Then after 3 days got admitted to the chest ward - who discharged me as it was xmas eve telling me to go home and do nothing.
Then the nurses were all yippe another patient going home for xmas - i was still ill!!!!! but the care I got at home was 10000000% better!
Anything else?
I'm only young but have server health problems and I just got oh you can get to the loo yourself, err no I can't breath I'm hooked up to oxygent and I dont' have my cruches with me,
the strop I got of the nurses because I asked for help - I think some of them need to learn some mannors, and skills on how to speak to people.
As I got better the more i could do for myself but them poor old people in that hospital, i saw one lady got up at 6:30am as the night staff had been told of the day staff all patient's had to be up and ready, this poor lady who couldn't talk, or do anything for her self was made to sit there in her own waste until her family came to see her at 7pm, they asked the nurses to put her to bed - they left her, the night staff put her to bed at almost midnight!
