"Impossible to get an appointment"

About: Quayside Medical Practice

You are asked to call in a morning at 8.30 to try to get an email emergency appointment. The line is permanently engaged. Thirteen years ago I found a lump in my breast, I went to the Dr the following day. Consultant three days later and had surgery a few days after for breast cancer. The practice has gone to pot. I can't even get an appointment for been advised non available even though the Dr at the walk in centre told me to call them and stress it was urgent. Feel totally let down by a practice that used to be so efficient

Dear Anonymous

I am sorry you feel let down by the Practice, as you were seen at the Walk in Centre for an acute problem and subsequently advised to contact the doctor for an urgent appointment you may not have been provided with the correct service for your condition. If alternative intervention is required the Walk in Centre clinicians have direct access to A&E and our service and I shall address this concern on your behalf, please provide me with the detail at the surgery address.

I can assure you that we still see suspicious lumps within 24 hours and the pathway to secondary care remains excellent.

Yours sincerely

Vivien Dawber

Practice Manager
