"I was admitted to the Trauma Unit..."

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to the Trauma Unit following a Road Traffic Accident. The first few hours were a blur, however I rapidly became aware of the superb level of care provided by the Nursing staff, and the professional way in which it was delivered. Throughout my stay of very nearly 2 weeks, I have been overwhelmed by the care and consideration given to me by the entire team.

Although there have been some outstanding individuals involved in my care, I feel naming them would be unfair on those not named, who were equally outstanding, but perhaps had a more limited involvement in my treatment.

Suffice it to say, that the Trauma team in the Hospital, bet they Nurses, Caterers, or Cleaning staff, are outstanding. Many thanks.

What could be improved

Frankly very little, with the exception that as I have recovered, it has become apparent to me just how stretched the staff are. Obviously this is a result of resources available, however the effect on staff morale is noticeable in so much as couple of staff have mentioned to me that they have 'had enough', and are looking for alternative employment. That is both a shame and a waste of talent.

Thank you for your kind comments about the Trauma Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, which have been passed on to the management.

We welcome all feedback from our patients, and it is a real benefit for our staff to know that they are so appreciated.
