"We are all told that cancer needs to be..."

About: Croydon University Hospital

What I liked

We are all told that cancer needs to be diagnosed quickly for a positive outcome. I have been waiting 7 weeks to see a hospital doctor since first visiting my GP. She has telephoned the hospital twice as my condition has worsened and cancer is suspected. It is now three days since her last call and I am still waiting.

What could be improved

Quicker appointmnets.

Anything else?

Would like the chance to add more but haven't even fot my appointment yet,

We are sorry that this wait has meant an anxious time for you.

Any referral from a GP marked as an urgent suspected cancer should be dealt with promptly and the person will be offered an appointment within two weeks. We are very sorry if this did not happen in your case.

If your GP faxes an urgent suspected cancer referral form to the cancer office (he or she will have the number) we will make an appointment for you to see the appropriate consultant.
